Receiving Masters of Counseling Psychology degree at The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology, June 2019

I left a successful career in sales in my late 30’s to go back to school to receive intensive training in the field of counseling psychology as a bold response, in gratitude and hope, to my own redemptive story. But my training began much earlier than that. This career is the culmination of nearly two decades of struggle and relentless pursuit of health and personal development, and is truly what I love to do. My ability to guide others is informed by my training but rooted in my own experiences of suffering, loss, abuse, and of the utter relief of finally finding my own healing path. After pursuing it so long on my own, it was, of course, uncovered through the guidance and kindness of others. When that time finally came, I not only experienced relief (both dramatic and incremental), but I embarked upon a daring journey I could not have anticipated. I want this relief and freedom for others as well. I have read hundreds of books and tried just about every healing modality you can think of. I’ve learned a lot, and have developed a pretty extensive toolkit that my clients have access to. I also have a network of other health practitioners with specialized skills in massage, fitness, acupuncture, etc., that I connect my clients to when needed.

It is a motto of The Seattle School that we can only take others as far as we have been willing to go ourselves. I would not invite you into the courageous work of engaging your narratives of relationship, family of origin, sexual development, abuse, trauma, and heartache if I had not engaged my own. The result has been more freedom, more joy, more creativity… more life.
